The Spruce Peak at Stowe development heralds the renaissance of Stowe Mountain Resort, providing long‐anticipated mountain and facility upgrades, on‐mountain accommodations, and four season attractions to the well‐known ski destination. Adjacent to a scenic byway, black bear habitat, and the protected Big Spruce Brook, the project required significant stakeholder buy‐in prior to its inception, and continues to be developed within strict regulatory control.
SE GROUP has been an integral part of the development team since the inception of the Spruce Peak at Stowe project in 2003. Initial master planning identified the potential for the redevelopment of the day skier parking and campground at the base of Spruce Peak into a pedestrian oriented village. Additional site planning exercises focused on the integration of single‐family residential lots and duplexes with a beginner lift and trail, condominiums, base lodge and the village green plaza. The resulting plan has created ski to/from real estate that have outstanding views, privacy, and convenient connections with the base area development, while providing much needed beginner terrain and a vibrant village core as the focus for year‐round activities. Recent projects include the site planning, design, construction documentation and implementation for the Stowe Mountain Lodge Hotel and Spa, the Spruce Camp base lodge, the new resort entry from Rte 108, and the Over Easy Lift which connects the slopes of Mt. Mansfield with the new Spruce Peak development and the Spruce Peak learning terrain.
The Spruce Peak development has transformed Stowe Mountain Resort into the premier mountain resort destination in the eastern U.S. and re‐established the resort’s reputation as an industry leader.
