Planning and design of truly unique resorts is an interactive process. Working with a client's vision through a conceptual plan requires not only a keen understanding of how to balance real estate and amenities, but also how to do so with a sense of reality. Whether it is topographic or market factors that drive the process, SE GROUP always works from the basis that planning sets the stage for implementation.
And when projects do move forward, SE GROUP is there to provide exceptional detailed design and construction documentation of outdoor spaces, landscapes, pools and amenities. Our design work focuses on integrating building spaces into challenging terrain, encouraging pedestrian flow and movement, enhancing project vitality, maximizing value and return on real estate and doing so within budgets and real world constraints.
Mountain Planning and design is the historic cornerstone of SE GROUP. Since 1958 our specialists have designed, redesigned, or assessed thousands of mountain resort projects throughout North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. These projects have given us a worldly perspective on what it takes to create enjoyable, successful, and sustainable four‐season mountain resorts in a multitude of physical, environmental, cultural, and market settings.
Our contributions to the growth of ski areas and mountain resorts are based on our comprehensive services.
Mountain Planning and Design‐Our ski area designs, tested through market and economic feasibility studies, are based on detailed map work and thorough on‐the‐ground reconnaissance that allow us to capitalize on the unique features of each site.
Base Area Planning and Design‐We provide long‐range strategic plans, site plans, ski in/ski out real estate design, building programming, and operations and circulation studies for facilities ranging from day‐use areas to large four season destination resorts.
Project Implementation‐Our signature designs are transformed into capital cost estimates, construction documentation, field layout of facilities and detailed grading, and surface water management plans.
